Award-winning, Cardiff-based web development agency, Imaginet, has launched a new site for Cardiff music centre Gamlins, to extend the shop’s customer base and to provide online advice to musicians and beginners.
Imaginet, established in 1995, have delivered a highly attractive and functional e-commerce website that actively promotes Gamlins’ products and allows visitors to buy on-line securely and sign up for regular Gamlins newsletters. The new site replaces the previous website that only allowed users to browse static product information. Nigel Roberts, managing director of Imaginet, said:
"Gamlins' online music store offers an extensive product catalogue and provides customers with a quality browse and view service, which is more useful and friendly than other competitors in Wales. As well as users being able to buy online, they can pick up advice on learning an instrument in a dedicated section of the site."
The new website will be the primary online sales channel for Gamlins Music Centres and builds an extension to the core of the already successful business, while also enabling future expansion.
Gamlin’s music centre, based on St Mary Street, stocks a complete range of instruments as well as books, gift ideas and accessories. It was established in 1960 as a family business, after owner Horace Gamlin’s love of music grew from listening to his piano-tuner father, Archie Gamlin.
Philip Gamlin, manager of Gamlins said:
"The new website is a major improvement from our old site and fits in line with our brand. We already have a loyal customer base in Cardiff and we are hoping to build on this with the new website by extending our reach outside of Wales."
Imaginet, based in the city centre, has also designed new websites for Chiltern Railways, winner of the travel category at the New Media Age (NMA) Effectiveness Awards, Virginia Hayward hampers and gifts, and has recently won a contract for Miller’s antiques new website.
