Speaking at a fully booked event organised by the CIM today, Paula Dauncey, Imaginet's Marketing Manager shared her knowledge of social media and how to develop a social media strategy.
The event aimed to offer a practitioner's guide to deriving real value from your online marketing strategy. The topics covered were chosen following a survey of CIM members, so the subject matters were of real interest to attendees.
Tom Bennett, Marketing Director of Confused.com opened the conference with 'The position of online within your overall marketing strategy', followed by a talk on the all-important 'Search Engine Optimization: keywords and the law of attraction'.
Paula Dauncey then spoke about 'Developing a social media strategy'. She offered an introduction to social media marketing, what it encompasses and how to get started, followed by a basic introduction to some of the key social media tactics such as blogging and creating a presence on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
The whole event was well received and a follow up event is in the pipeline, focusing solely on some of the key social media tactics that can be used as part of an integrated marketing strategy.
